There are almost one million people living with HIV in Russia, but the virus is still widely regarded as a “sinners’ disease”. Sasha Volgina - HIV positive, pregnant and bustling with energy – leads a young activist group protesting against the shortage of antiretrovirals. While fighting for the medicines essential for her and her unborn baby, she faces reluctant government, AIDS denialists and her own past as a heroin addict.

 | SINNERS' DISEASE @ Docudays Kiev Our documentary "Sinners' Disease" is included in the DOCU/RIGHT competion of the Docudays International Human Rights Festival in Kiev, Ukraine. The film will be screened on Tuesday, 27th of March on at 15:45 in the Blue Hall of the Cinema House at 6 Saksaganskogo st. This is a very important screening for the film because, unfortunaltely, the situation for HIV infected people in the Ukraine is about the same as it is in Russia - which is not very good.
